im glad that its in the right place.
Could I please ask you if really intense cramping on and off is normal? its been 3 weeks since ive had it inserted. I don’t have cramping all the time or if I do its rather mild and not even enough for pain relief but sometimes I get an extremely bad cramp all through my uterus, hips,…[Read more]
Hello @nurse_nettie and everyone
I seen the nurse this morning and all is ok. I couldnt find the string properly as i had curled up abit which was what was causing some of the irritation. The eddging of the string was rubbing along the walls as it was curled up rather then straight. Its fixed now and we will monitor the itching just to see if…[Read more]
Thanks for being so kind @nurse_nettie
yes I will let you know how it all goes. I cant get in for another week unfortunately but I know if it gets really urgent then I can see about going to a medical centre.
I do have 2 symptoms that im a little concerned about that im sure youd have insight with as well and maybe others can share theres…[Read more]
Thank you @nurse_nettie
they did show me a little on how to locate the strings but I cant seem to find them. maybe the strings have curled up or sticking the side further up where I cant reach or something. im a little worried ill pull them out so have made an appointment to see the nurse just as peace of mind that things are still in the right…[Read more]
Thank you, its good to finally have some answers and to have been taken seriously rather then brushed off too.
I have already had the mirena inserted, it was very painful for me. There was a part in my cervix that the instruments had trouble getting through but before and after that part it was painful but tolerable…[Read more]
Hi, ive recently been diagnosed with PCOS which finally provided some answers for me.
ive spoken to the gynaecologist and we think that Mirena would be the best option for my lifestyle and the added feature of not having to tell anyone about it.
I was wondering though if anyone could share their experiences with it? Did it hurt to be insterted-i…[Read more]

Thank you @nurse_nettie

Hi, ive been trying to work through what may be causing the itchiness ‘down there’ i experience. It isnt new to me but ive been trying to track it to see if theres a pattern and try other things as well. I cant really pick a specific time it happens ie after/before periods but it happens quite frequently and can be quite intense. I have so much…[Read more]
Its ok, id never thought about it either till it was a possiblity it would happen to me. i guess its not really something that you think about or isnt the forefront of thoughts when it comes to surgical procedures.weve already been pretty thorough in going through medications etc at my last consult and will again a few days before…[Read more]
thank you @nurse_nettie for explaining that. that makes sense, i wouldnt want them to think it was a complication if it wasnt! i really hope wont have my periods then though, would be rather awkward and more messy than usual! i know nurses are juding but it would still be pretty embarrassing too
thank you @stephaniaaaah for sharing that with me. im glad it wasnt painful. the most thing i fear is needles and im aware biopsies and some procedures need abit of local. thats more what im afraid of then the procedures themselves!
thanks for those tips! i wouldnt have thought of that!
Thank you @tea
its like i get a kidney infection every time i have a period. Really strange and is semi new so ill meantion it to my gp and gynaecologist when i get a chance to see them as well but wondered if anyone else had experienced this too.
painkillers, heatpacks and hot showers are my best friends during that time of the month!
thanks so much, i have had a look at the procedures and they dont seem that painful more just awkward and uncomfortable. what isnt when it comes to these sorts of things feels a little daunting though! i think ill be writing down any questions ive got and taking them with me and will be sure to ask if any questions come up during the…[Read more]
