Just like any infections, different STIs need different treatments. And the treatments range from pills, to creams and injections

Some STIs can be cured through treatment. The most common STI in young people is chlamydia, which is cured with antibiotics, usually by taking two pills. Your Doctor can  prescribe these to you. This involves taking two tablets once and then avoiding sexual activity for seven days.

Other STIs use medicines to help reduce symptoms through treatment, like herpes.

Some treatments are available over the counter at the local pharmacy and others will require a prescription from your Doctor. Your Doctor can recommend the most appropriate treatment for you.
