Vaginal discharge is a fluid or semi-solid substance that flows out of the vaginal opening. It’s made by glands inside the vagina and cervix and helps to keep the vagina clean and reduce infections by carrying away dead cells and dead bacteria. It also has a role in sex and fertility. Feeling turned on or sexually aroused signals the vagina to increase lubrication (what people describe as feeling ‘wet’).
