Nervous about buying condoms?
The first thing is – you’re not alone. Most people are a little nervous about buying condoms, especially if you haven’t bought them before. You look around the store hoping there are no other customers around. And then there’s the cashier (if there even is one these days with all the self-service checkouts). Will they be judgemental?
Remember that people purchase condoms every day. And that cashier sells them every day. People have sex every day. There’s really nothing to worry about.
What sort of condom should I use?
Condoms come in loads of different sizes, brands, textures, colours and flavours, some are lubricated or non-lubricated, some latex or non-latex. Seriously, the options are endless which means there’s always one to suit.
Get hold of a mixed box, try a few out and see what works the best for you. Not a bad reason to have a load more sex, right?
Where can I buy condoms?
You can buy condoms from your local supermarket, chemists or pharmacies, convenience stores, petrol stations, Youth Health Centres, and Sexual Health Clinics. There are even speciality condom websites where you can order them online and get them delivered.
Want FREE condoms?
The Condom Credit Card Project from Family Planning NSW is a new service to make it easy for young people to get free condoms. Simply head to a clinic or service that displays the CCCard posters and ask for your own CCCard. Aboriginal Medical Services (AMS) can also provide free condoms.
Download the CCCard App at the App Store and Google Play to find CCCard providers near you.
