    Christmas season is upon us!! It got me thinking about sex and whether couples engage in sex the same way they do like Valentine’s Day? Do you have more or less sex during the holiday season?

    My partner and I are staying in a resort before a festival at the end of the month and there’s going to be a lot of sex. We would have a decent amount of sex even if we weren’t going away, but I feel like the holiday season and being on a trip kind of, makes you want it more?

    What do you think? Do you and your partner/s have more sex over Christmas? Do you feel an obligation to have more sex because of the holiday? Do you have less sex because of how busy it is?

    I think there’s something about having a special occasion for sex that makes it a bit different, special…sexy? Haha.

    I always make an effort to have sex over the Christmas period, but mostly because it’s also birthday sex – my birthday is the day after Christmas, so there’s a lot of celebrating going on.

    for me it depends on location. if I’m staying in a hotel or something then definitely more sex (I was just interstate with my partner at a time that happened to be our anniversary so we definitely made the most of that), but also if you’re staying with family over a holiday period then it could be a bit of a mission to find the time/privacy to get it on.
    having said that I feel like I have a pretty moderate/constant amount of sex with my partners (past and present) all the time so I have never necessarily felt like holidays amped that up, I guess.

    This will be my first Christmas spent with a partner and it’s going to be a big family affair so I’m not expecting anything, honestly. If it happens, it happens, but I’d rather not go in with expectations. 🙂

    @mintmilano     hmm interesting point, my family doesn’t usually do Big Gatherings over the holidays so I haven’t had the issue of manoeuvring myself around that during holidays.. though I have had sex while the family has been in the other room! @sextronaut I think just having respect for whoever is in the house is important! Generally, keeping the volume low is something I try and do (which is difficult sometimes,, covering my partner’s mouth has been necessary on more than one occasion haha)! Definitely, I think just be mindful of your surroundings and go with the flow!

    @tea @sextronaut haha yeah actively keeping volume to a minimum is probably your best bet. and I guess lock doors or make sure its a time when you’re not needed elsewhere or unlikely to be interrupted, as much as possible.

    I was just on a family holiday with my partners family and we wanted to sneak in a quickie one morning. as things started progressing my partner tried to put music on because he thought it would drown out any sounds, but he ended up blasting the A Star Is Born soundtrack, which was a total boner killer. I said it would be far less subtle if we just remember how to shut up while having sex for like 5 minutes haha

    A Star is Born would totally kill the mood for me too, @MintMilano. Volume is a great tip, when I need to keep quiet I always suggest having sex on the floor. I move pillows and the doona down there and have sex on top of that – no squeaky bed sounds!

    This made me laugh @mintmilano I think A Star Is Born is possibly the worst sex music of all time- weirdly a very sexy movie though…
    I always feel super ‘sexy’ around the holidays too. I wonder if it’s something to do with cosiness and time off and lovely food.

    @EarthMama, you’re definitely not alone. I’m pretty sure August has the highest percentage of births most years, which means everyone’s getting frisky during the holidays! I feel sexier during the holidays because I sleep naked during the Summer and spend more time in my swimmers to escape the heat.

    HAHAHAHA @mintmilano I am so sorry there wasn’t proper mood music for you! I’ve had this problem before actually, where I want music on to drown out our noise or add to the mood. I’ve found making a Spotify playlist to pop on when needed is good because then there’s no scrambling around for anything!

    Ohh yeah @earthmama the cosiness of the season totally gets me too! It’s kind of relaxing during Christmas time (when you’re not having a family gathering anyway)! I guess because people usually take time off around Christmas too, it’s easier to let yourself loose because you’re not thinking about work commitments or anything.

    I think also the decorations add to sexy times!! There’s something about fairy lights that just makes for good mood lighting! That with some scented candles and a Christmas tree in the background,,,, ahh,, bliss
