What is STI testing? STI testing is the process of running medical tests to check for any sexually transmitted infections (STIs). It is quick, easy, and confidential. Most STI tests only require a blood test and either a self-collected swab or a urine sample. Why is STI testing important? […]
It’s Valentine’s Day National Condom Day! It’s no coincidence that Valentine’s Day and National Condom Day fall on the same day… but in terms of which one we’re celebrating, well, that’s a no brainer. Here at Play Safe, we’ll take any excuse to celebrate condoms, but today, on National Condom […]

In this article, women share things that they wish men would stop copying from porn. One that really resonated with me is hair pulling and going really fast, I really don’t enjoy this that much as it’s a bit rough for me (but everyone’s different!)
What are some of the things that you wish men would stop copying from porn? Or which ones resonated with you?
I’m on the hair-pulling train with you @potplant!! It’s not sexy, it just hurts! I’m sure it can be done in a nice soft way, but I haven’t had that happen to me before. I think I’d really like if people communicated more during sex, I feel like that’s a big thing that gets left out in mainstream porn!
I’m not huge on violence during sex, and I’m quite concerned at how it’s being normalised. Does anyone else find themselves being torn between being sex positive but then also worrying about how violence could impact relationships and just straight up become thinly veiled abuse?
Totally agree! Personally I am not a fan of ‘bum-play’ yet I find a lot of guys seem to think most women enjoy this and will try it without asking. Asking first is always important.
