I found out the other day that I have a rather large septated cyst in one of my ovaries. I am going to see a specialist in a few weeks, but was wondering what exactly a cyst was and if cysts can impact ovulation and having children?
Hi @mak_trouble891, there are a few different kinds of ovarian cysts so I can’t give you specific advice without knowing your case. I can tell you that PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) is a condition where you have multiple cysts on your ovaries plus abnormal hormone levels & irregular periods. PCOS is the most common cause of fertility problems, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get pregnant if you have PCOS! The effect can be very individual so best to talk to your specialist about what it’s likely to mean for you.
