Exciting news! This article has announced that California has become the first state in the US to alow for PrEP to be sold without a prescription. I’m so happy to hear that the barriers in accessing life-changing medication are slowly but surely being removed! What do you think about it?

Wow, amazing news @sextronaut! I think it’s a great start to changing the negative views of HIV. I’d be interested to know how much it’s costing people though, considering the medical fees in the US are grossly high. It would be great if it was rolled out further than just one state too! Normalise HIV so we can have more discussions about prevention and treatment for it.

@tea I’d love to know the cost, too! There is still so much progress that needs to happen but yay for a small step in the right direction!

Great news! I’m not a person accessing PrEP and don’t know a huge amount about it but in Australia it costs approx $38.50 for a monthly prescription which you need to go to your doctor to access.

I’m interested to know how this works with getting an STI checkup which I presume you would do when you go to your doctor to get your prescription?

Woah $38.50 is pretty good (tho tbh should be 100% subsidised but we’ll get there) @stephaniaaaah!

Yep @tea – so many meds that should be 100% subsidised when it comes to sexual & reproductive health!

Could I have an STI?
