Trichomoniasis AKA “trich” is a sexually transmitted microscopic parasite. We don’t see it very often in most parts of Australia, but in the USA, trich is one of the most common STIs around! It often has no symptoms, but the classic sign is a frothy, smelly vaginal discharge. Symptoms in the penis may include discharge and pain passing urine. If you have these symptoms and a standard STI screen comes back all clear and you’re at risk, an additional swab for trich should be done. The good news is this infection is totally curable with a simple course of antibiotics  🙂
