If you’re like us, you can’t wait to celebrate the first ever Sydney WorldPride, whether you’re going to be marching in the parade or attending one of the 200+ events on offer, here’s what you need to know to have a safe and happy WorldPride.
WorldPride is a global LGBTQIA+ pride celebration hosted by a different city every 2-3 years (kind of like the Olympic games, but with glitter). The first WorldPride took place in Rome way back in June 2000, but this year is extra special because it’s the first time Australia is hosting WorldPride! Sydney will be hosting this year’s WorldPride celebration from Friday 17 February to Sunday 5 March, which lines up nicely with the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. There’s over 200 events to attend, so start your engines because Sydney WorldPride is just around the corner!
Don’t forget, PrideMonth is for everybody – It’s an inclusive environment founded to empower those in the LGBTQIA+ community and their allies. How you celebrate WorldPride month is completely up to you, and there’s something for everyone.
Sydney WorldPride 2023 is going to be one to remember! But please, make sure you remember it for the right reasons ? You know we’re all about sexual health here at Play Safe so here is a little reminder to:
No matter what you get up to (or who you get under) this Sydney WorldPride it’s important that you take care of yourself. Because in the words of icon, RuPaul “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?”
❤️??????
