So we’ve had similar topics on orgasms – like ‘can’t orgasm‘ (which has since had some user information deleted) but I’m struggling to find anything helpful for me. I’m hoping I’ll get some answers here!
For maybe the past two weeks I’ve been finding it almsot impossible to orgasm? Sex is fun and fine but I just can’t seem to finish off? I’ve tried with my partner and myself and it’s just not happening. I get this kind of overly sensitive feeling (not like I’m going to squirt or anything) and I just can’t get the feeling right. I don’t know how to explain it really, I kind of feel broken? Nothing else has changed except getting my IUD removed so I’m not sure if my hormone fluctuation has something to do with it.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Should I go see a sex therapist? My GP? Help!!
I know what you mean about the overly sensitive feeling @tea – The same thing happens to me!
For me, it usually happens when I’m too tired, distracted or stressed.
I think focusing on the fact that I can’t orgasm also makes it worse – it’s a frustrating cycle!
I’m so glad I’m not alone in this @aunt_flo! Also update: I had a chat about my anxieties with my partner and I was able to orgasm!!! I think stress and anxiety were definitely at play here.
Do you have any good coping mechanisms for it? Talking it out seems to work for me but what if you’re not comfortable doing that?
@tea wooohooooooooo!
For me, patience and being nice to myself is usually what works. It can take a little while, but I’ve come to realise that getting frustrated or blaming myself for not orgasming is zero per cent helpful.
So I usually just try to relax, and try to enjoy sex or masturbating, even if there’s no orgasm at the end.
And then eventually I get there again!
Glad that you were able to communicate and talk that out with your partner @tea. I can never orgasm when I’m stressed either! It’s crazy how stress plays into that. Or changing medications too!
This is definitely great advice!
